Initializing Printer's Setting
Initialize settings, registered data, etc., and return the printer to its defaults at time of shipment. Initialize specified settings and data only, or initialize all settings and data.
Initializing certain settings/data
The following items can be initialized individually.

Key and certificate: initialize key and certificate settings as well as CA certificate settings, and erase all keys and certificates other than pre-installed ones.

Address book: erase destinations registered in the address book.

Settings menu: initialize settings of all items in Menu in the Home screen.

Network settings: return network settings to their defaults at time of shipment.

Paper settings: return all settings set with Advanced Paper Settings to settings at time of purchase.
Initializing all settings/data
Return all settings to their defaults at time of shipment, and erase all saved data including logs. Initialize the printer at times such as when exchanging or disposing of the printer so as to prevent leakage or misuse of confidential information.
The following items are initialized/erased.

Registered Department ID

Information for each log

Home Screen Settings

Resource data downloaded with the resource download function
* Some functions may not be supported with your model.
Important

Administrator privileges are required to initialize settings. The printer must be restarted for some initialization items.
Initializing certain settings/data
Use the operation panel or the Remote UI to do this.
Operation panel
Note

You can initialize network settings from Menu > Preferences > Network > Initialize Network Settings.

You can initialize paper settings from Paper-Related Settings > Initialize All Paper Settings.

In the Home screen, select Menu.

Select Management Settings.
If a login screen appears, enter the Administrator ID and Administrator PIN, and select Login.

Select Data Management.
-
Select Initialize Key and Certificate, Initialize Address Book, or Initialize Menu.
With Initialize Menu, continue by selecting setting items to initialize.

Check the message content, and select Yes.
Settings information is initialized. The printer must be restarted for some initialization items to apply settings.
Remote UI
Important

If Management Settings in the menu is initialized, Administrator information or the Remote UI password is also initialized. To use the Remote UI, Administrator information or a Remote UI password must be reset.

Log in to the Remote UI in Administrator Mode.

Select Settings/Registration.

In Management Settings, select Data Management.

Select Initialize Key and Certificate, Initialize Address Book, or Initialize Menu.
With Initialize Menu, continue by selecting setting items to initialize.

Select Initialize.
-
Check the message content, and select OK.
Settings information is initialized. The printer must be restarted for some initialization items to apply settings.
Initializing all settings/data
Use the operation panel to do this. They cannot be initialized from a PC using the Remote UI.

In the Home screen, select Menu.

Select Management Settings.
If a login screen appears, enter the Administrator ID and Administrator PIN, and select Login.

Select Initialize All Data/Settings.

Check the message content, and select Yes.

Select Yes.
All settings information is initialized. After initialization is completed, the printer restarts automatically.
