Setting a DNS with the Remote UI
If using the printer in an environment with a DNS (Domain Name System) in place, set the DNS server information and DHCP options. Even if a DNS is not in place, setting an mDNS (multicast DNS) allows you to use DNS functionality. mDNS is used with Bonjour, etc.
If setting all items, set them from a PC using the Remote UI.

Administrator privileges are required to make settings for a DNS. The printer must be restarted for some setting items.

On the operation panel, make settings from Menu > Preferences > Network > TCP/IP Settings. However, some items cannot be set at the operation panel.

Log in to the Remote UI in Administrator Mode.

Select Settings/Registration.

In Preferences, select Network Settings.

Select IPv4 Settings or IPv6 Settings.

Select Edit....
The Edit IPv4 Settings screen or Edit IPv6 Settings screen appears.

In DHCP Option Settings, set DHCP options.
If not setting DHCP options, go to the next step.

In DNS Settings, set DNS server information.
Inquire with the provider or network administrator regarding settings information.
If not setting DNS server information, go to the next step.

In mDNS Settings make mDNS settings.
If not setting an mDNS, go to the next step.

Select OK.

Restart the printer.
Settings are applied.
