Cannot Connect by Wired LAN

When cannot print even though the printer is connected with the wireless router by wired LAN.

  1. Step 1 Enable wired LAN in the LAN settings.

If LAN off is displayed for the wired LAN icon, or if you have previously connected wirelessly, wired LAN is disabled. Set Wired LAN to Enable in the LAN settings. When wired LAN is enabled, Wi-Fi is disabled.

  2. Step 2 Check whether the LAN cable is disconnected.

The latch on the modular jack of the LAN cable may have broken and the cable may be becoming disconnected. If the cable is connected properly, the LED of the wired LAN connection port on the wireless router will be lit. If the cable is disconnected by gently pulling it, if the LED turns off, replace the wired LAN cable.

  3. Step 3 Change the IP address of the printer.

If your network administrator has restricted the IP addresses to use, enter the IP address provided by your network administrator.

Select (Setup) or Settings on HOME screen >Printer settings > LAN settings > Advanced > TCP/IP settings > IPv4, enter the specified IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway. If a DNS server or proxy server has also been specified, enter them.

    Note

    • When using IEEE802.1X/EAP, the authentication information (ID and password, etc.) registered on the RADIUS authentication server must be registered in the printer. Contact the network administrator for more information.
  4. Step 4 Check the wireless router settings.

Check MAC address filtering or IP address filtering on the wireless router.

If it is enabled, disable it, or enter the MAC address or IP address of the printer. When using IP address filtering, you may not be able to communicate unless you disable the DHCP server settings on the wireless router and connect using a fixed IP address.
