Streaks appear in copy/scan

If problems occur with copying, you need to identify whether the issue is with scanning or printing.

Scan the original, and if you see similar problems in the scanned image, see Scan-related troubleshooting. If there are no problems with the scanned image, see Print-related troubleshooting.

Scan-related troubleshooting

1. Check 1 Is the inside of the scanning unit dirty?

   If there is dirt inside the scanning unit, streaks may appear in copy or scan results.

2. Check 2 Is the ink tank cover opened during scanning?

   Opening the ink tank cover during scanning may cause streaks to appear in copy or scan results.

Print-related troubleshooting

1. See the check items related to the printer and paper on the following pages.

   • Printing is faint
   • Banding in different colors occurs
   • Image edges are blurred or white banding occurs
