Inserting Images in Posters

In addition to photos and clipart provided in the PosterArtist library, you can also insert your favorite images in posters.

Note

  • Inserted images can be resized, rotated, moved, etc. as desired. For details, see Working with Objects.

Inserting from PosterArtist Library

Insert templates and images from the PosterArtist library.

Note

Inserting from Computers or CD-ROMs

  1. Click Edit in the task area, and then click Photos.

    The view switches to the Edit screen (Photos).

  2. Click Add / Replace....

    The Insert Image dialog box appears.

    Note

    • In the Insert Image dialog box, only files in formats supported by PosterArtist are displayed. For supported file formats, see Supported File Formats.

  3. Select the image you want to add, and then click Open.

    The image is inserted in the poster.

    Note

    • You can also select multiple files at one time.
    • To replace images, right-click an image on the poster, and then select Replace Image > From File....

Inserting from Scanners and Other TWAIN Devices

Use a TWAIN device to insert images directly in posters.

Important

  • Before acquiring images, check that the TWAIN device is connected correctly.
  • For details on TWAIN device connection, driver installation, and screen operations, see the manual for the TWAIN device.

  1. From the Insert menu, select Add / Replace Image > Read from (Device Name)....

    The screen for the TWAIN device appears.

  2. Follow the instructions on the screen for the TWAIN device to acquire the image.

    The acquired image is inserted in the poster.

    Note

    • Images can also be acquired from a TWAIN device when you right-click an image on the poster, and then select Replace Image > Read from (Device Name)....

Inserting from Scanners Using PosterArtist QuickCopy

PosterArtist QuickCopy is an application to print enlarged copies of photos, documents, and other originals scanned with a scanner connected to a computer.
You can also send photos and documents scanned with a scanner to PosterArtist. Sent data is inserted in posters as a single image, and can be edited in the same way as other images.

Inserting from Digital Photo Front-Access

Use Digital Photo Front-Access to easily link photos from Canon digital cameras and other images on your computer with other applications.
Send images from Digital Photo Front-Access to PosterArtist as follows.

  1. In Digital Photo Front-Access, select an image.

  2. Select the menu to start PosterArtist or drag and drop the image to the PosterArtist icon.

    The image is placed in PosterArtist's temporary tray.

Inserting Print Images from Other Applications

Send documents and graphs created with Microsoft Office or other applications from the printer driver to PosterArtist to insert them in posters.

Important

  • Requires installation of imagePROGRAF Printer Driver Ver. 3.50 or later.

  1. In application's menu, click Print.

  2. In the displayed dialog box, select printer, and then select Properties.

    The printer driver's Properties dialog box appears.

  3. Click the Layout tab.

  4. On the Layout tab, select the Page Layout checkbox, and then in the list, click Edit Using PosterArtist.

  5. In the Properties dialog box, click OK.

  6. In the Print dialog box, click OK.

    The Page Capture window appears, showing thumbnails of the print image.

    Note

    • PosterArtist starts automatically even if it was not running.

  7. Select the page to send to PosterArtist, and then click Load.

    Note

    • To send all pages, click Select All.
      You can also select multiple pages at one time.

    The print image is sent to PosterArtist and inserted in the poster.

Copying and Pasting from Other Applications

Copy data (tables, graphs, etc.) created in other applications to paste into posters.

  1. In application, right-click object, and then click Copy.

  2. Right-click anywhere in the poster design area, and then click Paste.

    The object is pasted onto the center of the poster; move it as needed.
