PosterArtist is subject to the following restrictions. Keep these points in mind.
System Requirements
- Access our website for products supporting PosterArtist.
- The functions that can be used and the items that can be configured vary depending on your scanner or printer.
- In this guide, descriptions are mainly based on the screens displayed when using Windows 10 operating system (hereinafter "Windows 10") or Windows 7 operating system (hereinafter "Windows 7").

This guide describes how to use PosterArtist (Production Version).
Usage Restrictions
- You must log on to Windows as an administrator before the installation.
-
Please check the following points before installing this software.
- Shut down all other open applications.
- If a document is currently being printed out, then cancel printing or wait until printing ends.
- Check that the printer driver required by the target printer has been installed.
- If the installer screen is not displayed, double-click the CD-ROM icon in Computer, and then double-click "presetup.exe".
- Colors are preset in clipart, photo frames, and text graphics. If a color cannot be changed, then the control for changing that color is disabled.
- Resizing clipart in the horizontal or vertical direction using (Resize handle) may cause partial deformation of the clipart.
- The printed result may differ from the monitor display if you select a square paper format created with the Custom Paper Size function of the printer driver and then print in cut sheet mode. In such cases, resize one of the sides by 0.1 mm or more to form a rectangle, and then try printing again.
- In some cases, it may take some time to import posters created in PosterArtist 1.x.
- In some cases, layout of posters created in PosterArtist 1.x may not appear correctly when importing the file.
- In some cases, the italicized and bold fonts of posters created in PosterArtist 1.x may not appear correctly when the data is imported.
- With some fonts, the effect of italics may not be apparent.
- Vertical text in certain fonts may be truncated or misaligned. (For example, in the case of DynaFont of DFG.)
- Depending on the selected font type, text may be displayed outside the text box.
- Depending on the selected font type, outlined text may not be displayed correctly.
- In variable data print, if double-byte text is inserted to a text object created with single-byte text on a poster, the result may not appear as expected. In that case, change the font type to one that will correctly display the text.
- Printing cannot be performed via a print server.
- If you delete artwork on the Artwork Manager screen while an installer for other software is running, the artwork may not be deleted correctly. Thus, before deleting artwork, make sure no installers for other software are running.
- Artwork can be copied from the Artwork Manager dialog box; however, copies of artwork with a lock icon cannot be deleted.
- Administrator rights are needed in order to delete artwork in Artwork Manager.
- When importing poster data that has been created using PosterArtist, a warning message will appear for data containing library images that are not provided with PosterArtist Lite. The images will not appear on the poster.
- Some of the templates on the PosterArtist template download page use content (images) that is not included in PosterArtist Lite. If you download any of these templates, a warning message will appear and its content (images) will not appear on the template.
- When importing poster data that has been created using PosterArtist, poster data for which a variable data print has been specified will be handled as normal poster data. When you save the poster data, the link to the variable data will be lost.
-
Data for large size paper may fail to print. If this occurs, try printing after performing the following.
Exit PosterArtist, and then open the properties for the printer you want to use.
Open the Layout tab, and then click the Special Settings button.
Deselect the Fast Graphic Process checkbox. After that, restart PosterArtist, and then try printing again.
When printing is finished, select the Fast Graphic Process checkbox again.
- With Design Assist, created designs may include multiple copies of the same design depending on the specified images and selected area.
- Unicode supplementary characters (surrogate pairs) are not supported. If a Unicode supplementary character is entered, "?" appears instead.
- In a 64-bit version OS environment, some functions may not be available.
- Poster files created with or exported from PosterArtist version 3.0 or later cannot be opened in earlier versions of PosterArtist.
- If a message prompting you to update the root certificate appears at startup of an application, connect to the Internet, and then restart the application.
In an environment where you cannot connect to the Internet, obtain and apply an "Update for Root Certificates" of Microsoft. - In environments where the 64-bit version of Microsoft Office 2007 or later is installed on a 64-bit version OS, you may not be able to use xlsx or other formats as database files for variable printing.
In that case, the files can be used by converting them to xls format or CSV format.
