Originals that cannot be scanned
Avoid loading the following types of originals without a carrier sheet, as it may cause a paper jam or malfunction.
- Originals with staples or clips attached or that have glue
- Originals with a rough-textured surface or finish
- Originals with ink that is not yet dry
- Originals with carbon backing
- Originals dirty with dust, etc.
- Torn originals
- Originals with an irregular shape
- Curled originals
Carrier sheets
When scanning originals such as the following, it is recommended to use a commercially available carrier sheet.
- Originals that you do not want to damage
- Originals that have a surface or that are of a material that can be easily damaged
- Thin, non-rigid originals
- Originals with wrinkles
- Originals consisting of several bound leafs
