Troubleshooting -WPA/WPA2/WPA3-

"Failed to connect to the wireless router." Appears

  1. Check 1 Check your wireless router's network name (SSID) and password, including case sensitivity.

Network names (SSIDs) may differ between the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz frequencies. They may also differ between when the security protocol is WPA3 and when none or WPA/WPA2 is set.

If you still cannot connect even after entering the password correctly, write down or take note of the network name (SSID) described on the wireless router, and then check the name, including case sensitivity.

Check the above and tap OK to return to the Select router screen, and then select the correct network name (SSID).

After that, return to the previous page, enter the correct password in the printer screen, and then tap OK.

When there is no problem with password

  1. Check 2 Restart the printer, and then redo the connection.

  2. Check 3 Check the wireless router's security protocol settings.

To set the wireless router's security protocol to TKIP, change the channel bandwidth setting to something that includes 20 MHz, and then redo the printer's Wi-Fi settings. For improved security, we recommend that you set to AES together with WPA2 or higher security.

If the security protocol is set to TKIP, you cannot use IEEE802.11n (maximum channel bandwidth: 40 MHz) or IEEE802.11ac (maximum channel bandwidth: 80 MHz) as the communication standard.

The wireless router's network name (SSID) is normally described on the wireless router; for details on the security protocol settings, see the manual supplied with the wireless router or contact its manufacturer.

  3. Check 4 Check the wireless router's settings.

If the wireless router's DHCP function is off or MAC address filtering is enabled, you need to change the wireless router's settings. After changing, redo the printer's Wi-Fi settings.

For details on checking or changing the wireless router settings, see the wireless router manual or contact its manufacturer.

  4. Check 5 Reset the error, and then redo the printer setup.
