If ScanGear (scanner driver) is installed, IJ Network Scanner Selector EX starts automatically to enable scanning over a network from your computer or the operation panel of your scanner. Follow the procedure below to change the settings so as not to start IJ Scanner Selector EX automatically.
IJ Network Scanner Selector EX can be set not to start automatically; however, if IJ Network Scanner Selector EX is not running, you cannot transfer images scanned from the operation panel to a computer over a network.
Select System Preferences... from the Apple.
Click Users & Groups from System, select a user name from Current User, then select Login Items.
In Mac OS X v.10.6.x, click Accounts from System, select a user name from My Account, then select Login Items.
Select Canon IJ Network Scanner Selector EX, then click -.
Confirm that Canon IJ Network Scanner Selector EX is hid, then restart your computer.
Even if IJ Network Scanner Selector EX does not start automatically, you can print over a network and scan from a computer; however, if IJ Network Scanner Selector EX is not running, you cannot transfer images scanned from the operation panel to a computer over a network.
To start IJ Network Scanner Selector EX automatically again, follow either of the procedure below.
Click + in the step 3. Then click Applications > Canon Utilities > IJ Network Scanner Selector EX, select Canon IJ Network Scanner Selector EX, and click Add. Then restart your computer.
Select Preferences... from the Canon IJ Network Scanner Selector EX menu, then select the Enables scanning from the operation panel checkbox.
