Specifying Fluorescent Colors for Specified Areas

Change the color of the specified area into a fluorescent color.

Important

  • This function is unavailable depending on your model or paper type.
  • This function is unavailable when the Edit layout with Free Layout plus checkbox is selected in the Paper Options screen.
  • Colors similar to the specified color may also be printed using fluorescent ink.
  • When printing the poster on water resistant media for outdoor display, deselect the Use fluorescent ink checkbox.

Note

  • The following 11 fluorescent colors can be specified.

    Fluorescent colors not displayed in the Spot color palette can be specified in the Other Fluorescent Spot Colors dialog box displayed by clicking Custom....

  • To check the areas for which fluorescent spot colors are specified, click (Spot Color Area Preview) on the toolbar. Colors similar to the specified color may also be printed with fluorescent ink; we recommend that you preview the areas before printing.
  • When saving created posters or other items as .cpfx2 files that are exclusively for use with PosterArtist, information of the used fluorescent spot colors will also be saved.

Changing Colors Based on the Clicked Position

Change the color by automatically selecting an area whose color is similar to the color specified on the image.

  1. Open the Fill dialog box by one of the following operations.

    • Click Edit in the task area, click Photos, select the image you want to edit (such as a photo) on the poster, click (Retouch Image) in Edit Image, and then click (Fill) in the displayed Retouch Image dialog box.
    • Right-click the image you want to edit (such as a photo) on the poster, and then click Retouch Image... > Fill.
    • Click Edit in the task area, click Clipart, select the clipart you want to edit on the poster, and then click Convert to bitmap and edit....
    • Right-click the clipart you want to edit on the poster, and then click Retouch Image....

    Note

    • You can even change the color of posters or other items created in an application other than PosterArtist by importing them into PosterArtist as images.
  2. Select the fluorescent color you want to set from Fluorescent spot color in Select color.

  3. Select (Auto Select Based on Clicked Color), and then set Tolerance.

    Note

    • Tolerance is set to 15. Set a value between 0 and 100.
    • Increase the value in Tolerance to expand the range of colors to be selected.
  4. Click the position for which you want to use the fluorescent color.

    An area is selected based on the clicked position and the color changes into the fluorescent color.

Changing Colors by Specifying an Area

Change the color of the area you outline freehand or by drawing a polygon.

  1. Open the Fill dialog box by one of the following operations.

    • Click Edit in the task area, click Photos, select the image you want to edit (such as a photo) on the poster, click (Retouch Image) in Edit Image, and then click (Fill) in the displayed Retouch Image dialog box.
    • Right-click the image you want to edit (such as a photo) on the poster, and then click Retouch Image... > Fill.
    • Click Edit in the task area, click Clipart, select the clipart you want to edit on the poster, and then click Convert to bitmap and edit....
    • Right-click the clipart you want to edit on the poster, and then click Retouch Image....

    Note

    • You can even change the color of posters or other items created in an application other than PosterArtist by importing them into PosterArtist as images.
  2. Select the fluorescent color you want to set from Fluorescent spot color in Select color.

  3. Click (Select Area Manually), and then select a drawing mode in Mode.

    Note

    • In Mode, select Freehand or Shape.
  4. Outline the area for which you want to change the color into a fluorescent color.

    Drag on the image to outline the area, or click to specify the vertices of the polygon and double-click when you have finished drawing.

    The color of the outlined area is changed.
