Wi-Fi Connection Assistant

Wi-Fi Connection Assistant (formerly IJ Network Device Setup Utility) is a utility to check and diagnose the status of the printer and a computer on which Wi-Fi Connection Assistant is installed and then to repair the problem with the connection between the computer and printer.

The Windows version of Wi-Fi Connection Assistant can also perform the following.

  • Search for printers on the network and perform the initial network setup for the detected printers.
  • Connect a printer and a computer with a USB cable, and then perform the initial network setup (only for some models).
  • Automatically repair a port set for printing with a printer.

In the Windows version, the settings of the connected printer can be set.

Download Wi-Fi Connection Assistant from the link below, and install it on your computer.

Canon PRINT (for Windows and macOS)

Canon PRINT (formerly Canon Inkjet Smart Connect) for Windows and macOS is application software to allow you to easily use the functions of your printer.

Use this application to do the following:

  • Print and scan smoothly with simple operations.

  • Access Remote UI (including when connected by USB), without even checking the IP address.

  • Check at a glance information about your printer, such as the printer's error status, remaining ink levels, and network information.

  • If you use the latest version of this application, some models will also allow you to check the printer's network connection information (status code).

Download the application software from the following page, and install it on your computer.

Remote UI

Check printer information and change printer settings using the web browser on your computer, smartphone, or tablet.

To check printer information and change printer settings, display Remote UI by accessing the printer's IP address in the web browser.

If you use Canon PRINT, you can access your printer without checking its IP address. The printer can also be accessed with a USB connection.

Note

  • Before launching Remote UI for the first time, you need to change the administrator password from the one set at shipment. Keep a note of the new password so as not to forget it.

Security Policy

Security Policy is a function to allow the security administrator to configure settings related to security within a company on all target printers. A security level set by the security administrator can be set for the printers target for administration.

Only a limited number of consumer models come equipped with this function.

For details on the operations and settings restricted by this function, contact your network administrator or security administrator. If you received instructions regarding settings from the network administrator or security administrator, follow the instructions.

Security Settings Navigator

This function sets security by dividing it into six patterns based on the environments in which printers are installed. Only a limited number of consumer models come equipped with this function.

For details on each of the settings of this function, contact your network administrator or security administrator.
