Devices Required for Network Connection

The following devices are required for a network connection.

Communication device

  • Wireless router

    Device to relay communication when building a Wi-Fi network. A wired connection and wireless connection are available to connect with a wireless router.

  • Wired LAN cable

    Wired LAN

    There are printer models that can use a wired LAN. A wired LAN cable is required to connect a wireless router and printer with a wired LAN connection.

    A readily available wired LAN cable of category 5e or higher is of sufficient grade.

Devices

  • Computer or smartphone/tablet

    Device that is the initial point of communication when building a Wi-Fi network. A computer connects to the wireless router with either a wired connection or wireless connection, and a smartphone/tablet connects to it with a wireless connection.
