Paper Sources to Load Paper
The printer has two paper sources for feeding paper, the rear tray and manual feed tray.
The paper source used depends on the page size and media type.
Note
-
When printing, select the correct page size, media type, and paper source. If you select the wrong page size or media type, the printer may not print with the proper print quality.
For details on how to load paper in each paper source, see below.
Loading Two or More Sheets of Paper in the rear tray
When printing on paper from the sizes 4" x 6" (10 x 15 cm) to 10" x 12" (25 x 30 cm) or A3+, load them in the rear tray. Two or more sheets of the same size and media type can be loaded at a time, allowing you to print continuously. (Some page sizes or media types can be loaded only one sheet at a time.)
Select a page size, media type, paper source, etc. in the printer driver setting when printing.
Loading One Sheet of Large Size Paper or Thick Paper in the manual feed tray
When printing on large size paper such as 14" x 17" (36 x 43 cm) paper, or thick paper such as art paper, load it in the manual feed tray.
Select a page size, media type, paper source, etc. in the printer driver setting when printing.
The manual feed tray does not accept plain paper. When printing on plain paper, load it in the rear tray.
