Print Head Holder Does Not Move to Replacement Position
-
Check1 Is ON lamp off?
Check if the ON lamp is lit.
The print head holder will not move unless the power is on. If the ON lamp is off, close the top cover and turn the printer on.
The ON lamp flashes while the printer is initializing. Wait until the ON lamp stops flashing and remains lit, open the top cover again, then press the Stop button.
-
Check2 Is an error message displayed on LCD?
Close the top cover, follow the support code (error number) displayed in the error message to resolve the error, and then reopen it. For details on resolving the error, see List of Support Code for Error.
-
Check3 Has top cover been left open for 10 minutes or longer?
If the top cover is left open for more than 10 minutes, the print head holder moves to the position to protect it to prevent the print head from drying out. Close and reopen the top cover, then press the Stop button to return the print head holder to the position for replacing.
-
Check4 Has printer been printing continuously for a long period?
Close the top cover, reopen it after a while, then press the Stop button.
If the printer has been printing continuously for a long time, the print head holder may not move to the position for replacing since the print head may overheat.
