Using Information Services

You can use various information services such as provided by banks, and make airline reservations or hotel reservations. Since these services require tone dialing to use their services, you need to temporarily switch to tone dialing if your printer is connected to a rotary pulse line.

Important

  • You may need to contract with the service providers for some information services. For details, contact the service providers.

Using Touch Tone Line

  • Dialing by Using the On Hook Dial Function

    Note

    • You can use the on hook dial function only when Hook key setting in Security control under FAX settings is set to Enable.

    1. Make sure that printer is turned on.

    2. Flick HOME screen, and then tap FAX.

      The Fax standby screen is displayed.

    3. Tap .

    4. Dial number of information service.

    5. When recorded message for information service answers, tap numbers using Numeric key in accordance with message.

    6. Tap to finish using service.

  • Dialing by Using the Telephone Connected to the Printer

    1. Make sure that printer is turned on.

    2. Flick HOME screen, and then tap FAX.

      The Fax standby screen is displayed.

    3. Lift handset of telephone.

    4. Use telephone to dial number of information service.

    5. When recorded message for information service answers, use telephone to press numbers in accordance with message.

    6. Hang up handset to finish using service.

Using Rotary Pulse Line

  • Dialing by Using the On Hook Dial Function

    1. Make sure that printer is turned on.

    2. Flick HOME screen, and then tap FAX.

      The Fax standby screen is displayed.

    3. Tap .

    4. Dial number of information service.

    5. When recorded message for information service answers, tap Tone key to switch to tone dialing.

    6. Tap numbers using Numeric key in accordance with message.

    7. Tap to finish using service.

  • Dialing by Using the Telephone Connected to the Printer

    1. Make sure that printer is turned on.

    2. Flick HOME screen, and then tap FAX.

      The Fax standby screen is displayed.

    3. Lift handset of telephone.

    4. Use telephone to dial number of information service.

    5. When recorded message for information service answers, use telephone to switch to tone dialing.

      When you dial the number of the information service using the telephone connected to the printer, you cannot use the printer to switch to tone dialing. For instructions on how to switch to tone dialing, refer to your telephone's instruction manual.

    6. Use telephone to press numbers in accordance with message.

    7. Hang up handset to finish using service.
