Operation Panel
* Here, all operation panel indicators are shown lit for the purpose of illustration.
- (1) POWER lamp
- Remains lit after flashing when the machine is turned on.
- (2) ON button

Turns the machine on or off.
- (3) HOME button

Used to display the HOME screen.
- (4) LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)
- Displays messages, menu items, and operating status.
- (5) , , , and buttons

Used to select menu or setting items. Also used to enter information.
- (6) Color button
- Starts color copying, scanning, or faxing.
- (7) Black button
- Starts black-and-white copying, scanning, or faxing.
- (8) Stop button
- Cancels printing, copying, scanning, or faxing in progress.
- (9) Alarm lamp
- Lights up or flashes in case of errors.
- (10) Numeric button
- Used to enter information such as the number of copies, fax/telephone numbers, or text.
- (11) Tone button
- Temporarily switches to tone dialing, when connected to a rotary (pulse) line.
- (12) OK button
- Confirms your selection of menu or setting items. Also used to dismiss error messages or eject documents from the ADF (Auto Document Feeder).
- (13) Back button
- Returns to the previous screen.
- (14) Function buttons

Used to select function menu items on the bottom of the LCD.
- (15) FAX Memory lamp
- When lit, indicates that there are received or unsent documents in the machine's memory.
