Turning the machine on

Press the ON button to turn the machine on.
The POWER lamp flashes and then remains lit.
Note
- After you turn the machine on, it requires a warm-up period of about 20 seconds before any operations. Wait until the HOME screen is displayed.
- If the Alarm lamp lights up or flashes and an error message appears on the LCD, see Message Appears.

You can schedule automatic power-on at specified times on specified days of the week.

You can set the machine to turn on automatically when printing is started from a machine connected by USB or network or when scanning or fax reception is started. This feature is disabled by default.
Turning the machine off

Press the ON button to turn the machine off.
Once the POWER lamp stops flashing, the machine goes off.
Important
- Before unplugging the machine after turning it off, confirm that the POWER lamp is off.
Note
- Remember that faxes cannot be sent or received while the machine is off.
- The power cannot be turned off while the machine is sending or receiving a fax, or when unsent faxes are stored in the machine's memory.

You can schedule automatic power-off at specified times on specified days of the week.

You can set the machine to turn off automatically after a specified period when no operations are performed or print jobs are received from a computer. (The machine cannot be turned off when a telephone is connected.) This feature is enabled by default.
