Cannot Set Shared Folder on Computer as Destination Folder
If your computer is running an older version of Windows/macOS, you cannot set the shared folder on your computer as the "destination folder" for scanning or fax received images.
Set a shared folder on the following versions of Windows/macOS as the "destination folder".
-
Windows 8
-
Windows 8.1
-
Windows 10 or later
-
Windows Server 2012 or later
-
macOS 10.12.6 or later
Note
When using Windows/macOS older than the above, the shared folder cannot be set as the "destination folder" because SMB 2.1 or lower is used.
When you use Quick Utility Toolbox, you can specify the "destination folder" on Destination Folder Settings.
Important
The shared folder on the computer cannot be set as the "destination folder" from devices connected via Wireless Direct. Set Wireless Direct on the printer to disable.
When Security in Remote UI or Restrict destinations in Security settings on the operation panel is set to Use (Enable), the shared folder cannot be set as the "destination folder".
Even if the "destination folder" setting is completed, you may not be able to connect if the time zone of the printer is not set properly. Make sure the time zone is set properly.
To set the time zone, select (Setup) on HOME screen, and then select Printer settings > Other printer settings > Time zone.
Note
-
Please consider the difference between the region used and UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).
