Installing Canon Print Assistant
This section explains how to install Canon Print Assistant. Canon Print Assistant is installed automatically when you add a printer to your computer. The installation method varies depending on how the printer is connected to the computer.
The following instructions are shown using screens displayed in Windows 11 as an example.
Important
- Depending on the printer, you may not be able to install Canon Print Assistant if the Canon IJ printer driver is installed. In that case, go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps, remove the printer driver, and then install Canon Print Assistant.
Note that removing the printer driver also removes the scanner driver and fax driver. After installing Canon Print Assistant, reinstall each driver from the Canon website as needed. - Before installing Canon Print Assistant, check the system requirements and usage conditions.
For Network Connection
Turn on your printer
Connect your printer to your computer
Connect using one of the following methods.
- LAN connection on the same network
- Direct connection without going through a Wi-Fi router
Select Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners in Windows
Click Add a device
Click Add a device for your printer
Your printer will be added, and Canon Print Assistant will be downloaded and installed automatically.
Note- If your printer is not displayed, click Add manually and add the printer using its IP address.
Printers connected to the computer will be displayed.
For USB Connection
When you connect the printer to the computer with a USB cable, Canon Print Assistant will be installed automatically.
