Functions Available with Bluetooth Communication

If your smartphone or tablet (hereinafter "smartphone") on which Canon PRINT is installed and printer support Bluetooth communication, you can pair the devices (connect them with Bluetooth communication).

If using an Android smartphone, once you pair the devices, you can print or scan from the app.

Note

  • For printers supporting Bluetooth communication, see List of Models Supporting Bluetooth.
  • If your smartphone's Android version is 5.0, 4.4, 4.3, 4.2, or 4.1, Bluetooth communication with printers is not possible.
  • The functions available with Bluetooth communication of this app are not guaranteed on all smartphones (Android). Even if your smartphone meets the operating requirements, Bluetooth communication may not be possible depending on the model of your smartphone.
  • The maximum range of Bluetooth communication is 33 feet (10 meters). If signal strength is poor due to obstructions, the communication range may be significantly reduced. If possible, use Bluetooth communication in a place where there is no obstruction.

Downloading the App

Download the app from Download Canon PRINT.

Pairing Smartphone and Printer

Once you have installed the app, follow the steps below to pair with the printer.

  1. Check that printer is turned on.

  2. Start app.

  3. Tap More.

  4. Tap Bluetooth Setup.

    Follow the on-screen instructions to pair the smartphone and the printer.

    If using an Android smartphone, once pairing is complete, you can print or scan from the app.

    Note

    • Pairing enables the printer's auto power settings.

Printing with Bluetooth Communication (Android only)

If using an Android smartphone, you can print with Bluetooth communication after completing pairing.

  1. Tap Photo Print or Document Print.

  2. Select image or document you want to print.

  3. Specify number of copies, paper size, and other settings as needed.

  4. Tap Print.

Printing is performed with Bluetooth communication when (Bluetooth mark) is displayed in Print.
