Troubleshooting -Manual connect-

Wireless Router Not Detected

  1. Check1 Is the wireless router turned on?

If it is already turned on, turn it off, and then turn it back on.

Do not proceed to the next screen of this guide until the power is turned on. The connection to the wireless router will be temporarily disabled.

  2. Check2 Check wireless router name and password of your wireless router.

Names of wireless routers differ between the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz frequencies.

Find a name of the wireless router to use, and then select it in the printer screen.

Check the above and select Search again, and then press the OK button to search for the wireless router again.

If the wireless router is still not detected

  1. Check3 Are the wireless router and printer installed in an open space where wireless communication is possible?

  2. Check4 Is the wireless router operating in IEEE802.11n, IEEE802.11g or IEEE802.11b?

Check the above and select Search again, and then press the OK button to search for the wireless router again.

  3. Check5 Check the wireless router's settings.

If SSID broadcast (e.g., "ANY" connection) is disabled or the stealth mode is enabled on the wireless router, enable SSID broadcast or disable the stealth mode. Select Search again, and then press the OK button to search for the wireless router again.

When establishing a connection without changing the wireless router settings, select Directly enter the router name. Wireless connection settings for wireless router can be entered on printer directly.

  4. Check6 Check the wireless router's security protocol (encryption method) settings.

If "WPA/WPA2 Enterprise" is set, change it to "WPA/WPA2 Personal" on the wireless router. This printer does not support "WPA/WPA2 Enterprise."

For details on changing the security protocol (encryption standard) used by the wireless router, see the wireless router manual or contact its manufacturer.
