Scanner Button Settings

Set to start IJ Scan Utility when a scanner button is pressed.

Additionally, specify the scanner button settings via IJ Scan Utility to scan easily according to use.

Important

  • Log on to an administrator account before making the settings.

Windows 8.1 / Windows 8:

  1. Click the Settings charm > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers.

  2. Right-click the icon of your scanner, then select Scan properties.

  3. In the User Account Control dialog box, click Yes.

  4. In Actions on the Events tab, set IJ Scan Utility as the application to start.

    Set Canon IJ Scan Utility for all events in Select an event.

    If IJ Scan Utility is already set, click Cancel to end.

  5. Click OK.

Windows 7:

  1. From the Start menu, select Devices and Printers.

  2. Right-click the icon of your scanner, then select Scan properties.

  3. In the User Account Control dialog box, click Yes.

  4. In Actions on the Events tab, set IJ Scan Utility as the application to start.

    Set Canon IJ Scan Utility for all events in Select an event.

    If IJ Scan Utility is already set, click Cancel to end.

  5. Click OK.

Windows Vista:

  1. From the Start menu, select Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Scanners and Cameras.

  2. Select CanoScan XXX (where "XXX" is the model name), then click Properties.

  3. In the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.

  4. In the CanoScan XXX Properties dialog box (where "XXX" is the model name), select the Events tab.

  5. In Actions on the Events tab, set IJ Scan Utility as the application to start.

    Set Canon IJ Scan Utility for all events in Select an event.

    If IJ Scan Utility is already set, click Cancel to end.

  6. Click OK.

Windows XP:

  1. From the Start menu, select Control Panel > Printers and Other Hardware.

  2. In the resulting screen, click Scanners and Cameras.

  3. Right-click CanoScan XXX (where "XXX" is the model name), then click Properties.

  4. In Actions on the Events tab, set IJ Scan Utility as the application to start.

    Set Canon IJ Scan Utility for all events in Select an event.

    If IJ Scan Utility is already set, click Cancel to end.

  5. Click OK.
