Starting Professional Print & Layout

Professional Print & Layout can be started as follows.

Important

  • Professional Print & Layout cannot be started if a printer that supports Professional Print & Layout has not been added.
  • The Google Analytics license agreement dialog box appears only upon initial startup.

Starting from the Programs Folder

  1. From (Start button) on the taskbar, select All apps > Canon Utilities > Professional Print & Layout.

    Note

    • In Windows 11, use Professional Print & Layout v1.3.6 or later.
    • In Windows 10, from (Start button) on the taskbar, select Canon Utilities > Professional Print & Layout.
    • In Windows 8.1, select Professional Print & Layout on the Start screen. If Professional Print & Layout is not displayed on the Start screen, select the Search charm, and then search for "Professional Print & Layout."
    • In Windows 7, from the Start menu, select All Programs > Canon Utilities > Professional Print & Layout > Professional Print & Layout.

Starting from Digital Photo Professional

  1. In Digital Photo Professional, select the folder containing the image you want to print.

  2. Select the image you want to print.

    Note

  3. From the File menu of Digital Photo Professional, select Plug-in printing > Print with Professional Print & Layout.

Important

  • Professional Print & Layout cannot be started when no image is selected in Digital Photo Professional.

Starting from Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, or Lightroom

  1. Open the image you want to print in Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, or Lightroom.

  2. From the File menu, navigate as follows:

    Photoshop/Photoshop Elements:

    Select Automate > Canon Professional Print & Layout....

    Lightroom:

    Select Plug-in Extras > Canon Professional Print & Layout....

Important

  • Professional Print & Layout cannot be started when no image is displayed in Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, or Lightroom.
  • If Professional Print & Layout is not displayed in the menu of Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, or Lightroom even after installing Professional Print & Layout, follow these steps to install the Photoshop plug-in.

    1. Exit Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, or Lightroom.
    2. From (Start button) on the taskbar, select All apps > Canon Utilities > Professional Print & Layout Plug-In Install.

      • In Windows 10, from (Start button) on the taskbar, select Canon Utilities > Professional Print & Layout Plug-In Install.
      • In Windows 8.1, from the Search charm, search for "Professional Print & Layout," and then select Professional Print & Layout Plug-In Install.
      • In Windows 7, from the Start menu, select All Programs > Canon Utilities > Professional Print & Layout > Professional Print & Layout Plug-In Install.
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install.

      • The Photoshop plug-in may not be installed if Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, or Lightroom has never been started.
      • If using Lightroom, the Photoshop plug-in must be installed on a user-by-user basis. If you have multiple user accounts on the computer, install it on a user-by-user basis.
