Cautions, Limitations and Restrictions

Usage of PosterArtist software, and printing on the printer has the following limitations.
Please be aware of these limitations prior to use.

You must log into Windows as an Administrator before the installation.

Please check the following points before installing this software.

1. Shut down all other open applications.

2. If a document is currently being printed out, then wait until printing ends or quit that application.

3. Check that the printer drivers required by the above printers have been installed.

If the installer screen is not displayed, double-click the CD-ROM icon in [Computer], and then double-click [presetup.exe].

Color combinations for Clipart, Photo Frames and Text Graphics are already set. If a color cannot be changed, then the control for changing that color has been disabled.

Changing the size of Clipart using the vertical or horizontal scaling might sometimes cause deformation in a localized portion of that Clipart.

The printed result may differ from the monitor display if you select a square paper format with a user-defined printer function in the printer driver and then print in cut sheet mode. In such cases, change the size of one of the sides by 0.1 millimeter or more, set to a rectangular shape and try printing again.

In some cases, it may take some time to import posters created in PosterArtist 1.x.

In some cases, layout of posters created in PosterArtist 1.x may not appear correctly when importing the file.

In some cases, the italicized and bold fonts of posters created in PosterArtist 1.x may not display correctly when the data is imported.

In some cases, fonts may not appear as expected if you make text italic.

Some fonts may be truncated and the layout may be shifted for vertical text.(for example, in the case of DynaFont of DFG)

In certain cases, depending on the selected font type, text may display outside the text box.

In certain cases, depending on the selected font, outlined text may not display correctly.

When inserting double-byte characters into the text object that was created on a poster with single-byte characters, the variable data print may not display as expected. If this is the case, change the font type to one that will correctly display the text.

Printing cannot be performed via a print server.

If an installer for other software is running when you delete artwork on the Artwork Manager screen, the artwork may not be deleted correctly. Thus, before deleting artwork, make sure no installers for other applications are running.

Artwork can be copied from the Artwork Manager dialog box, however, copies of artwork with a key icon cannot be deleted, because they are protected.

CMYK images cannot be retouched.

Administrator rights are needed in order to delete artwork in Artwork Manager.

When importing poster data that has been created using PosterArtist, a warning message will be displayed if the data includes library images that are not provided with PosterArtist Lite. The images will not be displayed.

Some of the templates on the PosterArtist template download page use content (images) that is not included in PosterArtist Lite. If you download any of these templates, a warning message will be displayed and its content (images) will not be displayed.

When importing poster data that has been created using PosterArtist, poster data for which a variable data print has been specified will be handled as normal poster data. When you save the poster data, the link to the variable data will be lost.

Data for large size paper may fail to print. If this occurs, try printing after performing the following.
Quit PosterArtist and then open the properties for the printer you want to use.
Open the Layout sheet, click the Special Settings button and untick the Fast Graphic Process check box.
Then restart PosterArtist and print the file. When printing is finished,go back and select the Fast Graphics Process check box again.

With Design Assist, a generated Design may include multiple copies of the same Design depending on the selected area and the specified image.

Unicode supplementary characters (surrogate pairs) are not supported. When a Unicode supplementary character is entered, a "?" is displayed.

In a 64-bit version OS environment, some functions are unavailable.

When a message is displayed prompting the updating of the root certificate at the startup of an application, connect to the Internet, and restart the application. In an environment that cannot connect to the Internet, obtain "Update for Root Certificates" of Microsoft, and apply.

In environments where 64-bit edition Microsoft Office 2007 or later is installed on a 64-bit edition OS, you might not be able to use xlsx or other formats as variable data print database files.
In this case, the files can be used by converting them to xls format or CSV format.

Created poster files and exports from PosterArtist version 3.0 or later cannot be opened in earlier versions of PosterArtist.
