About sending information that is necessary for use of our services
If you choose "Agree", the information that is necessary to use the printer-related services provided on the basis of your sending such information will be sent to Canon. We use such information according to the following terms and conditions and our Privacy Policy.
Information we collect
- Information on personal details you provide and personal identification
- Personal identifier (For example: UUID of Canon ID, the user identification Canon issues when providing the service)
- Information about your activities on our products/services
- Information about your device (For example: model name of the terminal device in use, OS/browser information, device identifier, IP address, language settings)
- Information about your printers/scanners (For example: model name, serial number, ink/toner status, date of installation, maintenance history, information on error)
- Information on your use of printers/scanners (For example: number of sheets printed, information on paper, printing environment/conditions, setting information, number of scans)
- Information on drivers/applications/related services linked to your printers (For example: name of application, version)
- Files and other contents
- Files that you have uploaded when using certain services (For example: photo/document uploaded when using cloud linked print services, photo/document uploaded when using cloud linked scan services)
- Files that you downloaded from linked third party storage services when using certain services (For example: photos retrieved from third party services for your use of the cloud linked print services)
- Descriptions and metadata of files uploaded/downloaded when using certain services (For example: file size, file format of the photo uploaded when using the cloud linked print services)
- Personal settings and preferences
- Information on your settings (For example: preferred language)
Note: If your Canon product is shared for use, the above information for all users of the shared product will be sent. If you choose "Agree", please explain this fact to all other users who share the product and obtain their agreement as well beforehand.
Purposes of use
- To verify your identity;
- To provide, maintain, and protect our products and services;
- To improve the quality of our products and services, and to develop new ones;
- To help solve any issues you might have with our products and services;
- To protect our users and Canon; and
- For other purposes described in our Privacy Policy.
Retention period of personal information
- Until Canon achieves the purposes set out above (e.g., until you delete your Canon ID account)
*The retention period applies only when the collected information is personal information.
