Cannot Detect the Printer during Wireless LAN Setup: Check 4

Make sure that the printer is not placed far away from the wireless router.

The wireless router is located indoors within the effective range for wireless communication. Locate the printer within 164 ft. / 50 m from the wireless router.

In addition, check where the printer and the wireless router are located and take the appropriate action.

  • Make sure that there is no obstruction between the printer and the wireless router.

Wireless communication between different rooms or floors is generally poor. Adjust the location of the printer and the wireless router.

  • Make sure that there is no source of radio wave interference near the printer or the wireless router.

If a device (e.g. microwave oven) using the same frequency bandwidth as the wireless station is placed nearby, the device may cause interference. Place the printer or the wireless router as far away from the interference source as possible.

After checking above and taking the appropriate action, perform setup again.

Note

  • You can set up the network communication via USB. To set up via USB, select the Set up the network connection via USB check box on the Check Printer Settings screen and click Next.
