Check 1: Wait until the tank cover is opened.
When you press the tank cover open button, the printer performs preparation to open the tank cover.

ImportantDo not open the tank cover forcibly. The printer will be damaged.
Check 2: Is the top cover closed?
When you press the tank cover open button, make sure that the top cover is closed. If the top cover is opened, close it and press the tank cover open button.
Check 3: Is there any obstacle in front of the top cover?
If an obstacle is in front of the tank cover, remove that and press the tank cover open button again.
