Adjusting Line Length

To ensure that lines in CAD drawings are printed at exactly the right length, use Adjust feed length to adjust the amount that paper is advanced.

Note

  • We recommend executing the adjustment if you have changed the paper type or paper size.

  • Always check the Set priority values before adjustment.

Adjusting Feed Amount (Top)

Items to Prepare

When Using Rolls
  • An unused roll at least 8.00 in. (203.2 mm) wide

  • High-precision ruler

Important

  • Make sure the paper output support and top output guide are installed. The printed adjustment pattern may fall out of the top delivery tray.

Follow the procedure below to adjust.

  1. Load paper.

    Important

    • Always make sure the loaded paper matches the type of paper specified. Adjustment cannot be completed correctly unless the loaded paper matches the settings.

  2. Select Maintenance on HOME screen.

  3. Select Paper feed adjustment.

  4. Select Adjust feed length (top).

  5. Select Print alignment pattern.

  6. Select Roll paper 1 or Roll paper 2.

    A test pattern is printed.

  7. Examine the test pattern to measure the scale and calculate the discrepancy.

The scale bar prints "Millimeter" in 50 mm increments and "Inch" in 1-inch increments.

  8. Select amount of discrepancy.

If the scale is shorter than the actual size, use a positive setting value.

If it is longer, use a negative value.

The feed amount can be adjusted in 0.02% increments.

    A test pattern is printed.

  9. Repeat steps 7 and 8.

The adjustment value is now registered, and adjustment is complete.

Items to Prepare

When Using Rolls
  • An unused roll at least 8.00 in. (203.2 mm) wide

  • High-precision ruler

When Using Sheets
  • One sheet of unused paper of at least A4/Letter size

  • High-precision ruler

Follow the procedure below to adjust.

  2. Select Maintenance on HOME screen.

  3. Select Paper feed adjustment.

  4. Select Adjust feed length (front).

  5. Select Print alignment pattern or Change adjustment values.

    • If you select Print alignment pattern:

The test pattern is printed for you to measure the scale and calculate the discrepancy.

The scale bar prints "Millimeter" in 50 mm increments and "Inch" in 1-inch increments.

    • If you select Change adjustment values:

      No test pattern is printed.

Instead, you will measure a document already printed to determine the discrepancy.

  6. Select amount of discrepancy.

If the scale is shorter than the actual size, use a positive setting value.

If it is longer, use a negative value.
