Cleaning Inside the Roll Cover
About once a month, clean inside the roll cover to ensure optimal operation.
Also, clean inside the roll cover in the following situations.
- When a roll paper runs out
- After changing the roll paper
This explanation uses roll cover 1 as an example. Clean roll cover 2 in the same way.

When the sensor of the feed slot is dirty, the printer might not perform auto feeding properly. Even if the sensor seems clean, we recommend cleaning it because it may have paper dust on it.

Remove any roll paper.

Turn printer off.

Unplug power cord from outlet.
Caution

Always turn off the printer and unplug the power cord before cleaning or maintenance. Accidentally leaving the printer on poses a risk of injury if you touch moving parts inside the printer.

Open the roll cover.

Clean the inside (A) of the roll cover with a completely wrung out damp cloth.
Important

Do not use tissue paper, paper towels, rough-textured cloth, or similar materials for cleaning so as not to scratch the surface.

After cleaning, dry with a soft dry cloth.

Wipe away any residue and paper dust from areas (B, C) that come in contact with paper and sensor (D) with a completely wrung out damp cloth.

Never use flammable solvents such as alcohol, benzine, or thinner. If these substances come into contact with internal electrical components, there is a risk of fire or electrical shock.

After cleaning, dry with a soft dry cloth.

Close the roll cover.

Plug power cord into outlet.
