Automatic 2-sided Printing Problems

1. Check 1 Is automatic 2-sided printing selected?

   • For Windows:

     Make sure 2-sided Printing is selected in 1-sided/2-sided/Booklet Printing and Automatic check box is selected on Page Setup sheet in the Printer Driver Printing Preferences window.

     • 2-Sided Printing

   • For macOS:

     Make sure Double-sided is On of the Print dialog.

2. Check 2 Make sure loaded paper size is suitable for automatic 2-sided printing.

   The paper sizes suitable for automatic 2-sided printing are A5/A4/B5/Letter.

   Load paper of suitable size and select OK on the printer's operation panel.

3. Check 3 Make sure paper size setting is correct.

   Make sure the paper size setting is appropriate for automatic 2-sided printing.

   Check the paper size setting in the application software.

   Then, check the paper size setting in the Printer Driver.

   • For Windows:

     Check Page Size setting in Page Setup sheet in the Printer Driver Printing Preferences window.

   • For macOS:

     Check Paper Size setting in the Print dialog of the application software.

   Note

   • 2-Sided printing may not be available depending on the version of the application software.

4. Check 4 Make sure media type setting is correct.

   Make sure the media type setting is appropriate for automatic 2-sided printing.

   • For Windows:

     Make sure the loaded paper is suited to automatic 2-sided printing in Media Type on Basic Settings sheet in the Printer Driver Printing Preferences window.

   • For macOS:

     Make sure the paper selected in Paper Size in the Print dialog of the application software is suited to automatic 2-sided printing.

Note

• For Windows:

  To switch to manual 2-sided printing, follow the procedure below.

  Open the Printer Driver Printing Preferences window, clear Automatic check box on Page Setup sheet, and reprint.

  When performing manual 2-sided printing, note the following.

  • If you are printing three or more pages of a document, one side of each sheet is printed first.

    Turn over and reload the paper to print the reverse sides.

    Do not change the order of the sheets.

  • The procedure for turning the paper over varies depending on the staple side and printing orientation.

    Follow the on-screen instructions.

• For macOS:

  Manual 2-sided printing is not available.
