Enable or Disable Each Interface

Interfaces that cannot be used simultaneously with printers are controlled exclusively.

The interface that was enabled later will be enabled, and other interfaces that cannot be used simultaneously will be disabled.

Depending on the printer's status, the wireless settings are changed automatically.

When the power is turned on for the first time after purchase

Connect to a computer in advance with the USB cable and turn on the power.

USB connection is preferred and network connection over wireless is not possible. In the GX series models, both USB and wired LAN are enabled when they are both connected. For details, please refer to Switching Printer's Connection to Network or Devices. However, from the same computer, you will have to specify either USB or wired LAN.

When the power is turned on for the first time after purchase

Wired LAN connection

Wired LAN is enabled. It takes about 20 seconds for automatic recognition.

For some models, it needs to be enabled manually.

When the power is turned on for the first time after purchase

Power on without connecting a USB cable or wired LAN cable.

Easy Wireless (Easy WL) Connect runs automatically. When running automatically, a green dot will be displayed in the upper right of easy wireless connect icon in the case of color LCD models (Easy Wireless Connect).

If it is determined that Easy Wireless (Easy WL) Connect cannot continue due to time over or partway through, it will exit.

If the wired LAN can be automatically recognized partway through, it will be enabled.

When easy wireless connect icon connects after the Wi-Fi connection is started.

Wi-Fi is enabled. At this time, interfaces that cannot be used simultaneously are disabled.

When easy wireless connect icon fails to connect after the Wi-Fi connection is started.

The enable/disable settings on each interface do not change.

Other cases

When starting a Wireless Direct connection.

Wireless Direct is enabled when a Wireless Direct connection is initiated. Interfaces that cannot be used simultaneously are disabled.

When IEEE802.1X/EAP is enabled.

Wireless Direct is disabled.

For IEEE802.1X/EAP wired LAN and IEEE802.1X/EAP Wi-Fi connections, interfaces that cannot be used simultaneously other than the enabled interface are disabled.
