Cause
Cannot communicate. Possible causes include the following.
- The printer is not connected to the network.
- You did not agree to the web services license agreement so the subscription service has not been activated.
- A subscription ink cartridge was installed when the subscription service contract was not active.
Important
- Subscription ink cartridges cannot be used without a valid subscription.
- If you have canceled your subscription please purchase ink from a retailer and do not use the Print Plan Subscription cartridge.
What to Do
Press the printer's OK button to cancel the error.
After printing, take action to enable the printer to communicate normally, following the instructions below.

Check1 Is the printer connected to the network?
Refer to the following page and connect the printer to the network (wireless router).

Check2 Have you agreed to the web services license agreement?
Print out the network settings and check the "Web Service Status" (registration status) setting.
If it is not "Registered", select Web service setup > Web service registration in the printer menu, and agree to the terms and conditions of the web service license.

Check3 Is your subscription service registration active?
Check the status of your subscription from the Canon homepage.
If it has been cancelled or is otherwise inactive and you wish to continue your contract, reactivate your subscription.
