Cause

The 1401 support code signifies that the ink cartridge is not installed.

What to Do

If you intend to PRINT or COPY, install the ink cartridge in accordance with the procedures set forth in the manual.

• Replacing a FINE Cartridge

If the error is not resolved, the ink cartridge may be damaged. Contact Canon for repair.
