Cause

The maintenance cartridge is full.

What to Do

The action you should take to resume operating the printer depends upon which function(s) of the printer you intend to use.

1. To PRINT or COPY

If you intend to PRINT or COPY, you should replace the maintenance cartridge.

Refer to Replacing the Maintenance Cartridge for instructions on replacing the maintenance cartridge.

2. To SCAN

If you intend to SCAN, you should take one of the following steps:

  • - Press the Stop button on the printer. You will then be able to SCAN.

  • OR

  • - SCAN from an external device such as a computer, smartphone, or tablet using the corresponding application software.

  • OR

  • - Replace the maintenance cartridge. You will then be able to SCAN.

Note

  • The condition of the maintenance cartridge when this error is displayed will depend on where and how the printer is used.

    When this message is displayed, you must replace the maintenance cartridge.
