Notes on Usage (Canon Print Assistant)

Canon Print Assistant is subject to the following restrictions.Keep these points in mind.

  • Canon Print Assistant is a Windows-only application software.

  • If your printer supports Mopria®, it needs to be enabled.

  • To apply automated installation from Microsoft Store, all conditions below need to be met.

    • Your device is connected to the Internet.

    • Your printer supports Canon Print Assistant.

    • Your printer is added as a device. To add your printer, open Settings on Windows -> Bluetooth & devices -> Printers & scanners -> Add device. (for Windows 11 users)

  • If any of the following conditions applies, this application software cannot be installed.

    • Access to Microsoft Store is limited.

    • Access to Windows Update is limited and necessary files for Canon Print Assistant cannot be downloaded.

  • IT administrator cannot set up or distribute Canon Print Assistant on multiple devices.

  • SDK for Canon Print Assistant is not available for sharing.

  • Canon Print Assistant cannot be linked with uniFLOW Online.

  • Print problems may occur depending on your usage environment, and the timing of user actions in the application. In this case, try the following.

    • If there are print jobs in the print queue, delete the print jobs.

    • Restart your computer.

    • Keep your system up to date with Windows Update.

    • Switch from USB to network connection.

    • Delete the printer currently installed on your computer, and then add the printer again.

    • Uninstall Canon Print Assistant. (Install the app from the Microsoft Store if you want to use it again.)

    • Check that the printer is connected correctly, and that the printer is turned on.

  • Under certain conditions the application may be slow to start or run.

  • Use the printer drivers provided by Canon in order to access more printer functions. However, in some cases you may not be able to use the Canon drivers.

  • If problems occur with a printer shared by multiple users, use the printer drivers provided by Canon. However, in some cases you may not be able to use the Canon drivers.
