How to issue a registration code

Issue the printer registration code that matches the model you are using, and register your printer.

Before issuing a "Registration code"

  • Confirm that your printer is connected to the internet.

  • Your printer must be a compatible model. To see if your printer supports this service, please see the list of compatible printers.

  • The registration code is valid for one hour after being issued.

Issue a "Registration code"

Issue the code by following one of the methods below that matches your printer.

If you are using a printer with a color screen

If you are using a printer with a monochrome screen

Note

  • For printer models that do not have "Issue Registration Code" in the "Web Service Settings" menu, or for printer models that do not have "Web Service Settings", issue the code using Canon PRINT from your smartphone or tablet.

Issue using "Web service setup"

The operation differs depending on whether the printer screen is a color screen or a monochrome screen.

If you are using a printer with a color screen

  1. On the printer screen, select -> Web service setup -> Issue registration code

    The Registration code will be displayed.

If you are using a printer with a monochrome screen

  1. Press the OK button on the printer operation panel, or select , and then press the OK button

  2. On the displayed screen, select Web service setup -> Issue registration code

    The Registration code will be displayed.

Issue using Canon PRINT

Note

  • To use Canon PRINT, you must download Canon PRINT on your smartphone or tablet, and follow the on-screen guidance to register your printer in advance.
    You can download Canon PRINT for free from here.

  1. On your smartphone or tablet, tap

    The Canon PRINT main screen will be displayed.

  2. Tap the printer icon

    The printer settings screen will be displayed.

  3. Tap Issue Registration Code

    The Registration code will be displayed.

    4. Note

    • If an agreement screen is displayed, tap Agree.
    • If you tap Copy Registration Code, you can input the registration code by pasting it rather than typing it out.
